Just In : Lee Greenwood Taking The Stage At Freedom 250 Feels Like A Moment America Will Remember
After all the talk around the Freedom 250 celebration, President Trump has now made it clear who he wants on that stage.
In his post, he said the June 24 event in Washington, D.C. will be “the Greatest Rally, EVER” and
“A Rally to end all Rallies.” Reports also say the announcement came after several previously listed performers stepped away from the event.
But for country fans, the biggest name here is Lee Greenwood.
Trump said Greenwood will introduce him with “God Bless the U.S.A.,” a song that has carried Americans through holidays, hard days, military homecomings, and moments when people just needed to feel proud again.
The event is also expected to include Christopher Macchio, the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the Armed Forces Choir, the United States Marine Band, and the Joint Armed Forces Chorus.
That gives the night a strong patriotic sound, not just a celebrity concert feel.
Love him or not, Lee Greenwood singing that song in Washington for America’s 250th birthday is the kind of moment people will talk about.
Lee Greenwood belongs on that stage, because “God Bless the U.S.A.” still hits the heart of America.
